Need to know if a US size mens shirt is the same for the UK size?

you might find the mens stuff comes up a bit bigger

when i was in the us trying to buy a t-shirt for my friend who is quite thin but quite tall so usually would get a large in uk for the length it was hard for me to choose because a large seemed too large although it was long enough

i hope that makes sense lol

It is confusing. Brand to brand sizing can be different and that annoys me as I do most of my clothes shopping online so I have to send it back. I'd recomend sending the store an email asking about the sizing rather than just going by a general sizing if you're unsure. They should be happy to help.
