what’s the difference between french cuff and regular shirt?

A french cuff shirt has its cuffs separate from each other and are bound together with cufflinks. The french cuff shirt is generally a classier shirt for more formal occasions. A ‘regular’ shirt is usually a barrel cuff – where the cuff is bound with buttons in a barrel shape. Can be for formal use but casual use is just as good.
